Doha Port

Doha Port Redevelopment, Qatar

PileJax™ was selected as the rehabilitation and protection system for all piles being remediated in the major US$549 million Doha Port redevelopment project. Both steel piles and concrete piles needed to be repaired and protected. The PileJax™ pile repair system was used for full encapsulation of all piles. High strength epoxy resin grout was utilized to provide the optimal sealing and long term durability, providing a sound investment in critical infrastructure.

Holcim Jetty Terminal, Philippines

International cement company HOLCIM selected the PileJax™ pile repair systems to remediate and protect all 103 steel piles of their loading facilities in Batangas, Philippines. The piles were fully encapsulated with PileJax™ from seabed to soffit to substantially extend service life of HOLCIM’s Batangas infrastructure. Durability and speed of installation were the deciding factors for HOLCIM.

Holcim Jetty Terminal, Philippines

FMC Foret

FMC Foret Chemical Terminal, Spain

FMC Foret’s loading terminal piles and mooring dolphins were in need of remediation after decades of profitable service. The large diameter steel piles had been subjected to material loss due to active corrosion, including some isolated pitting corrosion cells. The PileJax™ pile repair system was selected to fully encapsulate the piles, isolating them from the marine environment. The full encapsulation immediately protected the steel piles, neutralizing the active corrosion cells. The piles and dolphins are now not only protected from corrosion, but fortified and shielded from the marine environment. The terminal piles and mooring dolphins are now ready for decades of future service.

Gold Coast Australia, Gold Coast City Council

Large diameter PileJax™ Jackets were successfully installed on the Lands’ End Bridge. Lands’ End Bridge is located at the popular Marine Parade, Gold Coast, Australia. This span of water is deep and fast flowing. PileJax™ lightweight, high strength, composite design made it possible for the dive team to handle and deploy the jackets in such challenging conditions.  With the combination of a skilled dive team and an innovative concrete pumping method this project was completed safely ahead of schedule.

Hope Island Bridge Australia, Gold Coast City Council

The PileJax™ pile repair system won the contract at Hope Island on 3 main factors. Firstly, technical performance, pour heights range from 5M on the shoreline to 14M at the bridge’s midpoint. 14M is over the standard length, showcasing the modular capacity of the PileJax™ system. Secondly, Rapid deployment, no wrapping of the structure, underwater coatings, or nuts and bolts to slow the dive team down. And thirdly, the final look of the job. Hope Island Bridge is in a residential location, Gold Coast City Council were adamant that the finished repair be aesthetically pleasing.

Loading Terminal, Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea Critical Supply and Loading Terminal was subjected to numerous technical and commercial feasibility studies. The studies were commissioned to determine if it was actually feasible to rehabilitate and protect the degrading infrastructure in such a remote location. The PileJax™ system won the contract for all 144 piles. The PileJax™ system has a projected service life of over 45 years, this made the remediation viable. Ease of installation in such a remote location also helped the PileJax™ System secure the contract, as no specialist equipment is required to deploy the lightweight high strength jackets.

Thrower Drive Bridge, Currumbin Creek QLD

The PileJax™ system won the tender and was specified for the Thrower Drive Bridge. The Thrower Drive Bridge is located in the Beree-Badalla recreational reserve. Special consideration was given to the final look of the project in such a stunning location. It was deemed absolutely necessary that the remediation not stand out as an obvious repair and that it blend into the existing structure. At PileJax™ we are proud of how well our product, and the dive team, delivered on these requirements. Both protecting and improving the look of the bridge. As a finishing touch custom cover was made for the PileJax™ locking system, capping off a remediation that has both form and function.
